Designer of Edgy Brothers’ decks of playing cards (Dia de los Muertos playing cards and the Grimoire Series of Playing Cards), Dave Edgerly, decided to create his own specific playing card project – Mardi Gras Playing Cards. This custom deck of playing cards inspired by the celebration of Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras (French for “Fat Tuesday”) is refers to events of the Carnival celebrations, beginning on or after the Epiphany (a Christian feast day that celebrates the revelation of God the Son as a human being in Jesus Christ) or King’s Day and culminating on the day before Ash Wednesday (a day of fasting – 46 days before Easter).
These playing cards appeal to Dave’s Cajun roots and should remind people the Carnival season in New Orleans (Louisiana, US). They are planned to be printed by the Expert Playing Card Company (EPCC).

The founder of Devilish Rogue Project, Dave Boyd, was a leading designer of Sultana Playing Cards. He now has a “Facebook giveaway” of the deck on Devilish Rogue Project’s Facebook Page.
“Looking to get your hands on a free deck of Sultana? Share the pinned post above for a chance to win. Winner announced on Feb 16th, international backers welcome.” ~ Dave Boyd
So, you can share the post (even like it 🙂 ). Also note – Dave recently revealed Jokers for his new active playing card project on Kickstarter – Gag Order Deck. They have funny literary basis.

This attractive Queen of Diamonds was created by a Romanian artist, Roxana Gănescu. Queen’s green dress really suits her green eyes. And the Queen of Hearts can obviously be envious of her hair and coiffure.
But don’t be careless. As Jeeves* said, “Red hair, sir, in my opinion, is dangerous”.

An American artist, Mike Wilcox (Mi-Wi), had his own deck of playing cards in mind creating these playing card artworks. He wanted to design a deck with four thematic suits. Three of them should be Robots, Pirates, Ninjas. Mike didn’t decide about the fourth suits. The plan was to design one card per day. But I think he has lost his interest in the project.
Nevertheless, he created several interesting playing card artworks. I think robots are better than ninjas. The full deck of robots could be a really nice present to playing card collectors. These playing cards have also custom suits which can be unusual for some collectors.
