D&D: Fulton’s October Playing Cards

October 1st, as the Harvest Moon Rise, pranks are pulled by those in guise. Fulton returns back from the dead, new ideas spring from his head. He brings life to our favorite time of year, with 52 spirits for you to fear.

The frightfully fun and whimsically illustrated artwork of Steven Noble will send shivers down your spine.

Packaged inside the box you will find one tricked out deck of playing cards. Everything from the back design, ace of spades, jokers, and court cards were customized.” ~ Dan and Dave Playing Card Co.

D&D: Vintage Plaid Playing Cards

Dan-and-Dave-logoToday read several words about another decks produced by two brothers Dan and Dave (The D&D Playing Card Co.). This is a set (pair) of playing card decks – Vintage Plaid Playing Cards: Casual California Blue Deck and Striking Arizona Red Deck. Two decks from two brothers… it is quite symbolic 🙂 Both decks were printed by USPCC in 2011.

These are not the first decks from D&D mentioned on pages of this blog. You can find other decks and additional information about the D&D Playing Card Co. on it.

For us, these cards bring back fond memories of childhood camping trips with our grandfather. Watching him pitch a tent, reel in a fish, and bring fire ablaze under a starry night were magical moments we never forgot. In honor of those days by the river and nights under the stars, we are proud to offer these new playing cards.” ~ Dan and Dave Bucks.

The deck: 52 playing cards + 2 Jokers + 2 Information cards. Poker size. Playing cards are printed on a premium stock and have a Cambric finish (“embossed”).

Collective Art Project (CAP) Deck: Ultimate Deck by Stranger and Stranger

Stranger-and-Stranger-logoStranger & Stranger is an award winning packaging design and branding company specialising in alcoholic drinks. Since 1994 they have named, researched and registered wines and spirits brands worldwide. They have created bespoke and innovative bottle shapes, labels, closures and all secondary packaging.

To celebrate the year they broke out of their alcohol comfort zone and designed premium olive oils, fine foods, luxury luggage and other new stuff, they decided to create a deck of playing cards and a special set of such decks.

Dan-and-Dave-logoBut even Stranger and Stranger needed some wise support in this question. So they teamed up with the well known company Dan & Dave (The D&D Playing Card Co.) to be able to use their knowledge and experience in the field of playing card production. Dan & Dave agreed to help with the production and the distribution of the deck. There are several articles dedicated to playing cards produced by Dan & Dave on this blog. So you can find out more about D&D and their experience in the field of playing card production.

As a result of this collaboration, Ultimate Deck saw the light in 2013. The deck includes 54 different artworks. The main part of them makes the cards semi-transformation playing cards. The deck was printed by USPCC.

The deck: 52 playing cards with different artworks + 2 different Jokers + 2 information cards. Poker size.

D&D: Fantastique Playing Cards by Sveta Dorosheva

Dan_and_Dave_logoWe have already devoted several articles to some decks produced by the Dan & Dave Playing Card Company (D&D). As it was said in the article about Fulton’s Clip Joint Playing Cards, the company generally produces playing cards; accessories for magic and card manipulations; books and videos dedicated to those fields of activity. Sometimes they take part in some big projects (“OUR MAGIC“).

This time we are going to say several words about (and to show several pictures of) another deck produced by D&D in 2011 – Fantastique Playing Cards. It is inspired by the apparatus of magic‘s golden age and the automatons of Jean Eugène Robert-Houdin.

This deck was designed by the Ukrainian artist Sveta Dorosheva (currently based in Israel). She is a freelance illustrator working in the areas of narrative illustration and art for books.

Playing cards were printed by USPCC on casino cardboard (Magic Finish) and have poker size. The deck includes: 52 playing cards + 2 Jokers + 2 blank cards. The Ace of Spades, Jokers and backs are custom with unique illustrations. All other playing cards in this deck are standard (recoloured) Bicycle playing cards.
