Kickstarter: The Four Seasons Playing Cards by Ace Collectable Cards

Ace Collectable Cards (Justin) designed a deck of playing cards, The Four Seasons, to celebrate the four seasons. The four suits of it represent a different time of year while the standard fifty two card deck is used to represent each week of the year. This deck will have also four Jokers representing each season and devoted to four chosen backers of this Kickstarter campaign. All elements of this deck are custom. The designer tried to incorporate a lot of classic symbols of appropriate seasons into each suit of it. Courts resulted to be very emotional characters.

The Four Seasons playing cards are planned to be printed by the Expert Playing Card Company (EPCC).

Contest: Red and Green Gatorbacks Playing Cards from JP Playing Cards

JP Playing Cards has a new contest for photographers-collectors.

First Place will receive a Red Gatorback deck.
Second Place will receive a Green Gatorback deck.

Rules of this photo-contest are the following:

Post a photo of any deck you own with the theme ‘RED’ – to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Post with the following phrase “My Entry to the RED GATORBACK Giveaway from @jpplayingcards #playingcards”, or email JP Playing Cards at gatorback.giveaway@jpplayingcards.co.uk.
Replace @jpplayingcards with a tag on Facebook and Instagram.
Strictly one per person only, strictly photos only – no photoshop.
All entries MUST be orignal for this contest and have been posted or emailed to JP Playing Cards by Friday 24th April, 5pm GMT.
Only a first place winner will be chosen in case of less than 20 entries.

Playing Card Art: Playing Cards by Siobhán Gallagher

Siobhán Gallagher is a Canadian artist. She graduated with a BDes from NSCAD University in 2012. Now Siobhán does graphic design work for Penguin Group USA (readers of books printed by Philomel Books can be familiar with her illustrations), Farrar, Straus and Giroux, McDonald’s, Ronald McDonald House Atlantic,etc.

These bright positive playing cards were designed by Siobhán. The illustrator of books for kids and teens can be seen in these artworks. The playing cards are a little bit crazy, but what a nice work with colours and geometrical forms. Here you have everyday habits and hobbies of people represented through original “visual patchworks*”.

The deck hasn’t been produced commercially. She printed a few copies and then cut them down and packaged them herself as part of an illustration project. But Siobhán is always available to hear from interested people about potential cooperation.

Of course, The Queen of Hearts, the Queen of Diamonds and the Jack of Spades can find more symmetric clothes. And the Jack of Clubs can get his right hand.
