“I’ve been dreaming of designing my own set of playing cards for a lot of time. The idea first came in 2007 when I was working on my Theogony project. For a brief time I was even considering turning the whole project into a tarot deck. Last year [2011] I finally started making drafts for the more widely used French deck and that’s how my Trumplust Deck of Cards began to take shape.

This Blog about This Blog: 1st Month on WordPress
“Playing Cards + Art = Collecting” blog came into being on WordPress February 3, 2013. All earlier posts are converted from my Tumblr blog. So the blog has been around for a month. I guess it is time to sum up some thoughts and results.
The main idea of this blog was to share information about playing cards and art projects connected with playing cards. I thought it can be interesting not only for other collectors of playing cards but for other people interested in different types of human creativity as well. I thought but I wasn’t sure.
As of today the blog has been viewed almost 7,000 times.
People from around the world (Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Isle of Man, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Macao, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Venezuela, Viet Nam) have shown their interest in this blog.
I think 240 (average) views per day mean some kind of constant interest in this blog. So I will go on with it.
Dear readers, I do not know who you are due to reasonable privacy policies of WordPress (I can only see total views from different countries) but I appreciate sincerely your appropriate interest.
I believe playing card collectors can find some new instances for their collections and useful information about upcoming decks or potential playing card projects. Some little known but very interesting designer’s playing card projects can also be found on this blog. The Kickstarter page is made to help to keep watch on interesting playing card projects on Kickstarter. The Sales & Discount page is made to help collectors to save their money for future replenishment of their collections. Find other interesting information on “USEFUL INFORMATION” page.
I guess people who do not collect playing cards can also find interesting artworks to behold. Museums and galleries are visited not only by collectors and historians (experts).
Also I am sure that in some way this blog can be useful for artists who want to release their decks of playing cards – people from around the world can see their artworks converged on this blog, estimate them, compare them, comment them, rate them, contact artists (why do you think I spend my time on all those social media contacts of artists); artists can get useful information about producers of playing cards, they can contact them for their effective cooperation and vice versa; artists can get additional feedback on their artworks (in case of active readers 🙂 ), also they can learn something new from their peers, etc.
Taking into account the above producers of playing cards can also find interesting information and exciting opportunities for themselves on this blog.
Dear readers, the system of special categories can help you to find interesting information in older posts on this blog. Check them in the right column under my Twitter feed.
I believe I will be able to please you with interesting information on this blog and I hope to see you on it more often. Also I hope you will actively share this blog on social networks, will comment posts on it or at least will rate playing card projects mentioned in them.
You can like the blog on its Facebook page and follow it on other social media networks.
Thank you. Have a nice day.
