This Blog about This Blog: Half a Year on WordPress

I am glad to state that “Playing Cards + Art = Collecting” blog celebrates half a year of its existence on WordPress. Time flies. I remember the first month of this blog on WordPress and its first 10,000 visits. That attention strengthened my desire to go on with this blog. Writing about its third month on WordPress, I had to admit a constant interest of people in it and their wide geography. As a result of such interest this blog got 50,000 visits by mid June, 2013. Now half a year… What has happened with the blog? What changes have been made? Yes, they have been made as this blog develops and tries to perfect itself. Let’s see…

First of all, suggestions of its readers were heard and this blog got a new decent address – http://playingcardcollector.net. Old one (https://playingcardcollector.wordpress.com) is also active. So now you can use both of them depending on your preferences. All old links will work automatically with new address as well as with old one.

I guess people are not indifferent about this blog as they propose to improve it. And I am pleased to see their growing interest in it – 10,000 visits by mid March, 2013; 50,000 visits by mid June, 2013… and as a result of six-monthly efforts – more than 77,000 visits. Yes, this blog has been interesting for people more than 77,000 times.

I try to post interesting (useful) information concerning decks of playing cards, playing card art (design) and art inspired by playing cards. And I see that people are really involved with my posts. Readers visit this blog each day. March 30, 2013 isn’t already the hottest day for this blog as it got 1,229 visits on July 17, 2013 (I have to think that at least one person didn’t have a working compass that day 😉 ).

This blog was visited 7,000 times during the first month of its existence on WordPress. 17,993 times it was visited during this July (this time seven persons happened to be without compasses 🙂 ). So it should mean 580 (average) views per day and the serious growth in popularity of this blog (more than twice).

Writing about the third month of this blog on WordPress, I expressed my hope to see new readers from around the globe. My hopes come true. This blog has found new friends from new places. And I once again hope that it will find new readers from different parts of the Earth. There are still some places unreached by this blog. This disappointing mistake should be fixed 🙂 .

At this moment this blog has been visited by readers from such places of the world (in alphabetical order):

This Blog about This Blog: playingcardcollector.net

Dear readers, some of you proposed me to make the address of my blog shorter. I considered your opinion and made the address shorter. Now you can find “Playing Cards + Art = Collecting” blog on:

http://playingcardcollector.net

or

https://playingcardcollector.wordpress.com

All old links will work automatically with new address as well as with old one. But I am going to make some changes in names of several links on this blog. So do not worry if you can not use an old saved link – just use a search bar and the name of a post (article) to find it.

Search_Bar

I will not change too much. But if you can not find some post (article) you can always ask me about it through comments on “About me” page. I will help you to find it.

Thank you for your attention.

Have a nice day… hey, I am not stingy – have a nice night as well 😉

This Blog about This Blog: 3d Month on WordPress

So three months flew by quickly. Yes, “Playing Cards + Art = Collecting” blog already exists for three months. It is a short period of time, actually, but it does not mean it is unimportant. So many things have happened since the first month of this blog on WordPress. And I think it is time to sum up some things again.

People have not lost their interest in this blog. The blog had its first 10,000 visits in mid March, 2013. And as of today the blog has been interesting for readers more than 29,000 times. Yes, more than 29,000 times.

This Blog about This Blog: 1st Month on WordPress

Playing Cards + Art = Collecting” blog came into being on WordPress February 3, 2013. All earlier posts are converted from my Tumblr blog. So the blog has been around for a month. I guess it is time to sum up some thoughts and results.

The main idea of this blog was to share information about playing cards and art projects connected with playing cards. I thought it can be interesting not only for other collectors of playing cards but for other people interested in different types of human creativity as well. I thought but I wasn’t sure.

As of today the blog has been viewed almost 7,000 times.

People from around the world (Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Isle of Man, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Macao, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Venezuela, Viet Nam) have shown their interest in this blog.

I think 240 (average) views per day mean some kind of constant interest in this blog. So I will go on with it.

Dear readers, I do not know who you are due to reasonable privacy policies of WordPress (I can only see total views from different countries) but I appreciate sincerely your appropriate interest.

I believe playing card collectors can find some new instances for their collections and useful information about upcoming decks or potential playing card projects. Some little known but very interesting designer’s playing card projects can also be found on this blog. The Kickstarter page is made to help to keep watch on interesting playing card projects on Kickstarter. The Sales & Discount page is made to help collectors to save their money for future replenishment of their collections. Find other interesting information on “USEFUL INFORMATION” page.

I guess people who do not collect playing cards can also find interesting artworks to behold. Museums and galleries are visited not only by collectors and historians (experts).

Also I am sure that in some way this blog can be useful for artists who want to release their decks of playing cards – people from around the world can see their artworks converged on this blog, estimate them, compare them, comment them, rate them, contact artists (why do you think I spend my time on all those social media contacts of artists); artists can get useful information about producers of playing cards, they can contact them for their effective cooperation and vice versa; artists can get additional feedback on their artworks (in case of active readers 🙂 ), also they can learn something new from their peers, etc.

Taking into account the above producers of playing cards can also find interesting information and exciting opportunities for themselves on this blog.

Dear readers, the system of special categories can help you to find interesting information in older posts on this blog. Check them in the right column under my Twitter feed.

I believe I will be able to please you with interesting information on this blog and I hope to see you on it more often. Also I hope you will actively share this blog on social networks, will comment posts on it or at least will rate playing card projects mentioned in them.

You can like the blog on its Facebook page and follow it on other social media networks.

Thank you. Have a nice day.
