The artwork is fabulous, but if you are looking for actual playing cards- these will not satisfy you. They are the same width and height as a normal poker deck, but the cards are considerably thicker- this deck measures a bit over 23mm, whereas a standard deck is about 15mm thick. The cards are also not embossed, so they are difficult to shuffle, spread, or play with. They are more like tarot cards than playing cards.

I bought these for my daughter and son-in-law (both sailors) to accompany custom cribbage boards I’m making for them. As beautiful as they are, I don’t think they are suited for regular playing-card use.

If you’re looking for lovely artwork- these are great. If you’re looking for something to actually use in play, I’d consider other options.

I must say, however, that Kipod did a great job fulfilling my order, responding to some questions I had promptly and delivering sooner than expected from Israel to US. I would certainly recommend them from a service point of view- just be aware that these cards may not be what you are expecting.

I’ll try to make my own photos later. The deck has jokers.
